What Should I Expect When I Visit the Cambridge Methodist Church

What Should I Wear?

We are a family church, so come as you would to a family event. You will not be judged by your appearance. Some of our Sunday crowd arrives in jeans, some like to dress up a little more. Be casual, be comfortable.

How will I know what to do?

We are warm and welcoming, and want everyone to feel accepted. When you arrive you will be greeted by our hospitality team who can answer any questions you may have.

What will the style of worship be like?

We blend contemporary praise music and traditional hymns so that the entire congregation can singalong. We view singing as a very special kind of prayer. As John Welsey stated in his Select Hymns (1761), “Sing all. See that you join with the congregation as frequently as you can.”

Is there a time of fellowship?

Fellowship begins at 8:45AM, beverages and snacks are served in the Friendship Café for a freewill donation. Feel free to bring your snacks into Bible Study in the Upper Room at 9AM, or to worship with you.

We love children!

We believe that children are a gift from God, and that they should be seen and heard in worship. Our children participate in worship by singing, offering up prayers, and participating in our “open mike” children’s message. We do have a secured nursery available if you choose, but we love to worship as a family.

What do you do for communion?

Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.  The Methodist Church celebrates an open table where everyone is welcome to participate, and continue, or begin their relationship with God. If you have not yet been baptized, feel free to join us at the communion table, then please contact our pastor at pastor.cambridgeilmc@gmail.com for the next steps.
